On Opus 2 Opus 2 is an exploration of opposites; a yin and yang of form and abstraction that moves between life and death, sun and moon, male and female. Gold and silver speak to the alchemy of transformation, from the base to the enlightened. Blue drifts toward the realm of water and the subconscious, while earth-toned sands anchor us to the physical. Together, they become the integration of opposites.
On the Process Opus 2 is composed of 3 distinct layers. Layer 1: A photographic composition, the upper triangle the full body while the lower triangle is abstracted through several layers in Photoshop. Layer 2: A full scale digital painting of the work in Procreate, painting in depth, texture and details. Layer 3: The final layer, 24-carat gold & genuine silver, hand applied to a printed section of the work within the central triangles to achieve their true luminous quality (you simply cannot replicate precious metals, it has to be the real thing) This gilded section is then reintegrated into the digital composition.
