The Guardians came unexpectedly. I was deep in the development of my Nude Abstracts series when I hit a creative wall that refused to move. In the period that followed, these figures arrived. Not planned, not sketched, just appearing from a mistaken image I scribbled over in frustration.

Each of these works is hand-painted in Procreate, built through dozens of layers of brushwork, erasure, overlays, and the occasional ghost of a photograph. I studied oil painting in high school, and so I am familiar with the way hand and brush move, but this digital pigment allows me a little more room to experiment and play.

This series became a strange release, a blend of childhood storybooks, Jungian archetypes, mythological characters, and surrealist impulse. These guardians are thresholds between waking and dream world, they asked to be created,I simply listened

and they can only be captured if you dare to dream.
