This series, titled "Integration of Opposites," emerges as a visual philosophy that delves deep into an odyssey of contrasts — from form vs abstraction, male vs female, body vs mind, life vs death, and day vs night. Each piece in this series serves as an investigation to try and understand the balance of dualities: a reminder that life doesn’t work in absolutes but in the delicate interplay between Yin and Yang.

OPUS 1

69 x 55 Inches | Satin Rag

'Opus 1' starts the journey and acts as a blueprint for the series. Reminiscent of an hourglass, this piece hints at the cyclical nature of time and our place in the universe. Employing gold pigment to evoke the warmth of the sun (symbolizing body and heart) and silver, the ethereal metal of the moon (representing mind and subconscious), the inverted triangle, an ancient alchemical signifier of femininity, holds within it the flesh form of the body (gold). Below, the triangle encompasses an abstracted form, leading us to dive into our subconscious minds (silver). These geometric shapes are set against a backdrop of two distinct colors, yet if you look closely, there are many layers to uncover; you need only sit, contemplate, and discover the messages within.
